Russell 16 x 20 Acrylic on Canvas

I've had a reference photo of a crow in my "to paint" pile for ages, and I thought it was time I'd give it a try. I love the expression in this guy's face and how the layers of colours peek through.

Mona 12 x 12 Acrylic on Canvas

Mona was so much fun to paint and I enjoyed the challenge of trying something new. It's been ages since I last painted a flower, and it was interesting how similar the wings were to painting trees. Plus orange is one of my favorite colours (I use it in most of my under-paintings) and I've never tried an insect before. I'm glad I went outside my comfort zone

Mr. Moe Circles - Future Inspiration?

When I posted last week on facebook about how much I loved visitors to my studio, this wasn't what I had in mind. And of course my first thought was, Darn (maybe not darn), my camera card is broken. How can I get a good shot of him Little did I know that he wasn't too shy and was happy to stick around, and run in circles for most of the day for a visit. Thankfully after a few backflips, Mr. Moe Circles returned outside back to his family. Stay tuned for a potential mouse painting???

Meadow 12 x 12 Acrylic on Canvas

I am incredibly relieved to post my first painting I completed, start to finish, in our little temporary spot. I was feeling a bit "funky" ( to say the least) while trying to get used to a different painting space (especially since I think I'd have better light in a cave than in the kitchen that I'm currently painting in). Thankfully my family gave me an extra amazing mother's day gift of a daylight that attaches to my easel which has been a real life changer. I kept it simple with my first piece to ease back into things, and went with a hummingbird. I confess that I love the background colour - and I'm hoping he is the first of many good pieces while I'm here...

Bear 12 x 12 acrylic on canvas

Here is the final version of Bear. I had a tricky time photographing him (it is always so hard to photograph black without the glare - plus I seemed to have misplaced my camera card in our move so I had to use my phone). I hope Bear`s Mom is pleased with her Mother`s Day gift. I`m very happy with him - I love the expression on this handsome guy`s face,

Currently Showing at The Ledge Cafe in Downtown Squamish

I'm happy to announce that my work is on display at the Ledge Cafe in downtown Squamish. I currently have up two bears, a buffalo, a heron, and of course, an owl. I'm particularly proud of the brown bears. And not only does The Ledge have fabulous art, but they also have great coffee and scrumptious treats I hope you can stop by and take a look. https://www.facebook.com/TheLedgeCafe

Baby J 10 x 10 acrylic on canvas (sold)

We moved on May 1st from our home (and my studio) to a rental unit, until we take possession of you new home on June 1st. I confess that the move has taken a bit more out of me that I anticipated, and I haven't had much successful painting in the new, temporary space. For now, I thought I'd post a cute little bird I painted a few months ago, but hadn't yet posted. I think he looks pretty adorable,
