Meet Leno - he is a recent commission that I just completed and I'm excited to share with everyone. I confess I was a bit nervous with this one - I was trying to get settled into my new space, and I've never painted a horse before (there is always some stress with commissions and deadlines). Thankfully he seemed to come together really well, and I'm thrilled with the results. I loved painting the different tones in his coat, and I felt "in the zone" while painting him. Sorry for the over due post We moved on June 1st and it was a greater disruption that I expected. My new studio (aka our garage) is almost set up and I'm thrilled to post my first completed piece. This guy was a commission for the faculty at my daughter's school, Coast Mountain Academy. I wanted to make it unique to the school, so I tried to incorporate the crest in the background. It was presented to the staff at the year end assembly yesterday and everyone seemed pretty pleased.
