Apparently we weren't the only new family in our neighborhood. A chickadee family moved into our neighbor's bird house (first time in 5 years since they had it). I've always wanted to paint a chickadee, and I found a great photo in my files. I "went out on a limb" and went with a purple base colour and I think it works well.

I love these little birds - there seems to be a bunch living in my hedge and I see them all the time at coffee shop I visit. I just wish I could get close enough to one to get a good photo.
