I was recently commissioned to paint a dog with an exceptional story. In 2004, Gilbert was shot, run over, and left on a secluded road. He was rescued, and after 8 months in rehabilitation, was adopted. Gilbert recently passed away, after living a happy new life. Leanne had never met the owner, or Gilbert, but wanted to help. I just finished this guy up today. He took a little longer than I hoped but I confess that I'm finding it a bit difficult to "get into the groove" during the moving process.  In the end I think he looks pretty great and more importantly his owners think so too :)
