I think Herons have such a quirky look to them, and I love seeing them now and again, flying around our home.  I'm pleased with how this guy came together, and I discovered a new favorite blue in the process,

I'm lucky I get to see these great majestic birds all the time living in Squamish. I love that they have an eeriness to them. This is actually the second heron I have painted (the first one I painted sold right away at the Pemberton Library). This guy was lots of fun to paint, especially his feathers and beak.
